• REPORTS

  You are required to write two reports on one of the works selected from the lists given in the Schedule

  Each report will take two forms:
  

  1. a webpage with text, images, and links (the equivalent of a three-page, double-spaced paper; not including bibliography)

  2. a 15 minute presentation to the class

  Your report should comprise a discussion, analysis, and explanation of the work. It should be researched as extensively as possible using both library and online resources. Wherever possible, your text should be "annotated" with links to further information. A list of websites with additional information should be added, as well as a bibliography listing books, articles, and websites you have used. Include as many illustrations (either actual images, or links to images) as you wish.

  For those of you who have not written a paper for an art history course before and are unclear about what is expected, please come and see me.

  All reports will be posted on your own website.

  • First Report is due on March 1

  • Second Report Bibliography is due online by 10:30 a.m. on April 19
    
    
  • Second Report is due online by 5:00 p.m. on April 26

   

• The bibliography should includes at least five library sources you have used (books, periodical articles; but no encyclopedias or dictionaries).

  Each clasroom presentation of your report should be approximately 15 minutes long, with another 10 minutes or so for discussion and questions.

• EXAMS

  Two Written Exams

  • Write your exam on the form provided, print when you have completed the exam, and hand in to me.

    Both EXAMS will be in three parts

    • Part One: Identifications

      Fifteen (15) images will be projected each for one minute. In each case, provide the following information:

      • TITLE:
      • ARTIST:
      • DATE:
      • LOCATION (if in situ):
      • NATIONALITY OF ARTIST:

    • Part Two: Essays

      Four (4) images will be made available online. In each case, identify and, writing in essay form, tell me everything you know about each one (self-timed, approximately 10 minutes each: total 40 minutes).

    • Part Three: Multiple Choice

      Ten (10) multiple choice questions drawn from the text readings for each of the principal images given in the SCHEDULE (approximately 10 minutes)

Grading

• Class participation [attendance, etc] = 10%
• Each Exam = 25%
• Each Report = 20%
